This charming quintessential country cottage enjoys a delightful situation and southerly aspect within this popular and accessible village on the edge of the Quantock Hills. The property is in extremely good decorative order, featuring well-balanced accommodation that is also light and airy.
The ground floor is accessed by a stable door into a porch, which has space for coats and shoes. From here double doors lead into the sitting room. A lovely room, with a dual aspect; the main feature being an inglenook fireplace with an inset multi-fuel burning stove, bread oven and recessed beam over. Adjacent is a very impressive kitchen/dining room, also with a dual aspect, and fitted with a wide range of solid wood fronted wall and base units, including a part glazed dresser, and granite effect work tops. There are integrated appliances: a dishwasher, washing machine, Belfast style sink, oven and hob. From here a door leads to a turning staircase to the first floor.
The first floor provides three double bedrooms, two with windows facing the front and one with a window to the rear. All enjoy an attractive outlook. There is also a bath/shower-room, fitted with a modern four piece suite.
Outside, the garden is a delight, featuring a wide variety of plants, shrubs, small trees, with several varieties of rose. In addition, is an area of lawn, with a well, two seating areas adjacent to the cottage, one paved, one with slate chippings, a greenhouse and timber shed. The property is accessed from the road by a private gravelled driveway, leading to the parking and turning area. A path provides access to the cottage.
The property is warmed by an LPG central heating system and is fitted with modern timber effect UPVC double glazing to all external windows and doors.
The village has a church and public house. There are very good transport links as it lies adjacent to the A38, with both Junction 24 and Junction 25 of the M5 motorway approximately four miles away. Somerset’s County Town, Taunton, is approximately five miles to the south west, Bridgwater approximately the same distance to the north-east. Both towns offer a wide range of facilities as well as fast road and rail links to the rest of the country.
Follow the A38 from Taunton, passing Walford Cross. At the top of Adsborough Hill take the slip road on the left marked Thurloxton. The property will be found on the left, just before the crossroads opposite the Maypole Inn. From Bridgwater, following the A38, take the third Thurloxton right hand sign to the village, trickle round the left hand bend by the pub and the property will be found on the right, identified by our For Sale sign.
